What engineering ideas can children try with Air Toobz?

Children arrange the tubes in different ways, switch on the fan and adjust the airflow to see what the foam balls do. They can try to make a ball leap from tube to tube, hover in mid-air or go round in an endless cycle, which is designing, testing and improving in action. Air Toobz are marked age 3+.

How can sand timers be used in maths?

Sand timers make time something children can measure and compare. There are six colour-coded lengths, from 30 seconds to 10 minutes. Children can count how many jumps fit into one minute, check which task took longer, or put the timers in order from shortest to longest.

How does Spike the Fine Motor Skills Hedgehog help with sorting?

Spike's quills come in four colours, red, orange, green and purple, so children can sort them by colour, count them as they go in and make simple patterns. Pushing each quill into the two-piece hedgehog and pulling it out again gives fine motor practice at the same time. The product page lists what is in the set.
