UV Products: your questions answered

Do UV toys glow without a UV light?

No. UV reactive items need ultraviolet light to glow, so in ordinary light they simply look brightly coloured. Shine a UV lamp or torch on them in a darkened room and they light up. The UV LED Lantern is portable and runs on 4 x D batteries, so you can carry it to where the children are.

Which UV kits come with their own UV light?

These three do. The UV Time Fun Kit includes a UV Torch, the UV Sensory Exploration Bag includes a UV Light, and the UV Discovery Tub includes a UV LED Lantern, each alongside a mix of items such as a slinky, spiky wrist bands and a squishy tentacle ball. Can UV resources be used for letters and numbers?

Yes. UV Letters are a set of 26 letters made from highly reactive UV plastic, and UV Numbers are a set of 20 numbers, 100mm tall, in various colours. Under a UV light they glow, which gives letter and number games in a dark den a fresh twist.
